4 cups of flour 3 tablespoons of lard or shortening 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda 1/8 cake yeast 1 teaspoon of sugar a pinch of salt 1/2 teaspoon of malt extract water sufficient to make stiff dough
Roll out 1/4 inch thick on lightly floured board. Cut into desired shapes. Brush lightly with milk. Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 425ºF. for 15 - 18 minutes or until lightly browned.
