Spicy Milk Tea

6 whole cloves
4 thin slices of fresh ginger, or 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
2 cinnamon sticks
4 cups of water
4 teaspoons of jasmine tea
1 cup of half-and-half
honey
cardamom
mint sprigs for garnish



Bring water to a boil. Add cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. Cover; simmer 10 minutes. Add tea and steep for a few minutes. Add half-and-half; bring to a boil again. Remove from heat. Strain into a teapot. Serve with a sprinkle of cardamom and a bit of honey. Garnish with mint. Serves 4.
