1/2 cup of buttermilk 3 tablespoons of oil 1/2 cup of yellow corn meal 1/2 cup of toasted corn meal 1/2 cup of whole wheat pastry flour 3/4 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder salt or paprika
Combine the butter and oil. In mixing bow, thoroughly stir together the dry ingredients. Add milk mix and stir until dough forms ball. Knead on floured board about 5 minutes, add more flour if needed. Divide dough in half. Roll each into a 12 inch square. Cut into 1 inch squares. Sprinkle with salt or paprika. Bake on lightly greased baking sheet for 15 minutes or until lightly browned at edges. Oven should be set at 350ºF. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet, finish cooling on wire rack. Store in loosely covered container. Makes 8 - 10 dozen chips
