Combine sugar, allspice, cloves, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cider in large saucepan. Slowly bring to boiling; cover and simmer 20 minutes. Remove spices. Serve in warmed mugs with a clove-studded orange wedge in each. Serves 8.
Hot Mulled Cider 2
1/2 cup of brown sugar 1 quart of apple cider 1 quart of cran-apple juice 1 teaspoon of allspice 1 teaspoon of cloves 3 sticks cinnamon Dash nutmeg
Bring to a boil; cover and simmer 30 minutes.
Hot Mulled Cider 3
1 bottle (1 gal.) apple cider 1 cup of firmly packed light brown sugar 9 whole cloves 9 whole allspice Four 3 inch pieces stick cinnamon broken into 1" pieces 2 lemons, thinly sliced
Combine the apple cider and the brown sugar in a large kettle. Tie the cloves, allspice and cinnamon in cheesecloth and place in kettle. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes. Discard spice bag. Serve the cider in mugs and float a lemon slice in each. Hot Mulled Cider 4 1 quart of apple juice 1 quart of pineapple juice 2 cinnamon sticks 12 whole cloves Combine all of the ingredients and simmer gently for about 5 minutes. Save time by mixing the day before and then heating when ready to serve. |
