2 1/2 to 3 pounds of spareribs 1 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon of pepper one 1 pound can of sauerkraut, drained 1 apple, cored and diced 1 tablespoon of sugar
Preheat oven to 400ºF. Cut spareribs into serving size pieces. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place on a rack in a baking pan. Brown in oven 15 minutes; turn and brown other side about 10 to 15 minutes. Pour off fat. Spoon sauerkraut into bottom of a slow cooker. Top with apple, sprinkle sugar over apple. Place ribs on top. Cover and cook on LOW 5 1/2 to 6 hours or until ribs are tender. Serve hot. Makes 4 to 5 servings |
