|  | Mashed Potatoes & Turnips
3 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered 3 medium turnips, peeled and quartered 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt 1/4 cup of butter or margarine 1/4 teaspoon of white pepper
In a 3 quart saucepan, combine potatoes, turnips and 1 teaspoon of salt. Add water to cover. Over high heat, heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low. Cover, simmer 20 minutes or until vegetables are fork tender. Drain. In a large bowl with mixer at low speed, beat vegetables, remaining 1/2 teaspoon of salt, butter and pepper until fluffy. Yield 3 cups |
