| | No Knead Rolls
1/2 cup of scalded milk 3 tablespoons of shortening 3 tablespoons of sugar 2 teaspoons of salt 1/2 cup of water 1 cake yeast or 1 package of active dry yeast 1 egg 3 cups of all purpose flour melted shortening
Blend together the milk, 3 tablespoons of shortening, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm by adding water. Add yeast, and mix well. Add egg. Add flour, gradually, mixing until dough is well blended. Place in greased bowl. Brush top with melted shortening and allow to rise until light. Knead dough a few times to make a smooth ball. Form into desired shapes and bake in 400ºF. oven for 15 - 25 minutes or until golden brown. Easy and very tasty. Makes 2 dozen |
