| ABM No Pain Ordinaire 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons of bread machine yeast 2 cups of bread flour 1 tablespoon of sugar 3/4 teaspoon of salt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter 2/3 cup of water Additional unsalted butter, for a softer crust, optional
Combine the yeast, flour, sugar, salt, butter and water in the bread machine pan. Process on the basic bread setting. Remove the bread from the bread pan to a rack to cool. For a softer crust, immediately rub the top and sides of the loaf lightly with butter or place the warm loaf in a plastic bag. Close the bag and finish cooling. Makes one 1 pound loaf. |
