Apple Tea Bread

2 1/2 cups of unsifted all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
3 tablespoons of oil
1 1/4 cups of milk
1 egg
1 cup of shredded apples



Preheat oven to 350ºF. Oil and flour a 9 x 5x 3 inch loaf pan or two 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pans.
Measure all ingredients into large bowl, beat with mixer at medium speed 1/2 minute.
Turn batter into pans. Bake 55 to 65 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Loosen from sides of pan, turn out on rack to cool.
Cut in thin slices with serrated knife. Wrap in foil when completely cool. Slices best day after baking. Makes 1 large loaf or 2 medium loaves.
