Ham & Asparagus Casserole

3 tablespoons of butter or margarine
3 tablespoon of flour
1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard
1 1/2 cups of milk
1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) of shredded Cheddar cheese
2 cups of cubed cooked ham
1 package (10 ounces) of frozen cut up asparagus, cooked and drained
1/8 teaspoon of onion powder
a dash of Tabasco
1/2 cup of toasted slivered almonds



Melt butter in a saucepan. stir in flour and mustard. Gradually add milk, stirring until thickened and smooth. Add cheese, stirring until smooth.

Combine with ham, asparagus, onion powder, and Tabasco. Put into a 1 1/2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with almonds.

Bake, uncovered, at 350ºF.  for 20 minutes, or until heated through. Serves 4
