Luxembourg Pork Chops


 

Luxembourg Pork Chops

1/2 pound of bacon
2 pounds of sauerkraut
one 15 ounce jar of applesauce
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard
1/4 cup of dry white wine
a dash of freshly ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon of paprika
6 loin pork chops, 1 inch thick




Cut bacon into dice and sauté until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Mix with sauerkraut, applesauce, sugar, mustard, wine and pepper. Place in 12"x24", shallow casserole. Sprinkle with paprika. Sauté chops until golden on both sides. Place on  top of mixture in the casserole. Cover and bake in 350ºF.   oven for 1 hour. Serves 6
