Asparagus Casserole #2

2 pounds of asparagus
3 tablespoons of butter or margarine
2 tablespoons of flour
4 ounces of Velveeta cheese
1/2 teaspoon of salt
a dash of pepper
1 cup of milk
4 slices of cubed bread



Melt butter over low heat. Add flour, salt and pepper, stir, remove from heat. Add milk, cook over low heat until thick. Add cheese, stir until cheese is melted. Drain asparagus, arrange in casserole. Pour cheese mixture over asparagus. Dip bread cubes in melted butter, top casserole. Bake at 350ºF. for 35 minutes
