Grits Casserole

 

Grits Casserole

1 pound of sausage
1/2 cup of chopped green peppers
1 cup of chopped onion
1 cup of chopped celery
1 cup of grits, uncooked
4 cups of water
1 teaspoon of salt
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1 cup of grated cheese




Preheat oven to 375ºF. Brown sausage. Add peppers, onion, celery, and sauté. Cook the grits in 4 cups of water with 1 teaspoon of salt. Combine cooked grits with sausage, peppers, onion and celery. Pour mixture into 2 quart casserole, buttered. Spread soup on top and sprinkle with cheese. Bake for 30 minutes. Serves 10- 12
