1 pound of pork steak 3 tablespoons of cooking oil 1 cup of sliced onion 1 cup of sliced celery one 8 ounce can of mushrooms one 8 ounce can of water chestnuts, drained and sliced one 13 3/4 ounce can of chicken broth 1/4 cup of soy sauce one 16 ounce can of chop suey vegetables, undrained 5 - 6 tablespoons of cornstarch 1 chicken bouillon cube hot cooked rice
Boil the celery and onion in 1/2 cup of water. Add 1 chicken bouillon cube. Cook until tender. Set aside. Slice partially frozen pork in thin, bite size slices, across the grain. Preheat a large skillet or wok . Add cooking oil. Stir fry pork for 2 - 3 minutes. Add bouillon mixture, mushrooms, water chestnuts, chicken broth, soy sauce and chop suey vegetables. Cook to a boil. Add cornstarch. Stir after each tablespoon of cornstarch. Serve over rice. Serves 6 |
