one 1 pound 1ounce can of green peas 1 1/2 cups of diced potatoes 1 cup of diced carrots 1/2 cup of chopped onion 4 tablespoons of butter 4 tablespoons of flour milk 1 teaspoon of salt 1/8 teaspoon of pepper 2 teaspoons of soy sauce two 7 ounce cans of tuna, drained
Drain the peas, reserve liquid. Cook the potatoes, carrots and onions in reserved liquid for 8 - 10 minutes. Drain, save liquid. Melt the butter in saucepan, stir in flour to make a smooth paste. add milk to vegetable liquid to make 2 cups. Add to butter mixture. Cook over low heat, stir until mixture thickens. Add seasonings. Combine the vegetables and tuna in a buttered 2 quart casserole . Pour sauce over all (may be refrigerated overnight). To serve, bake covered in 325ºF. oven for 1 hour. |
