| | Veal Casserole Supreme
2 pounds of veal steak or rump 2 tablespoons of butter 1 small onion 1 can of cream of mushroom soup 1 can of mushrooms 1 cup of sour cream one 8 ounce package of noodles 1 green pepper, diced 2 cups of shredded sharp cheese 1/4 cup of buttered bread crumbs
Cut veal in thin strips, 2 - 3 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. Brown onion in butter. Brown for 1 hour or until tender. Add mushroom soup, mushrooms and sour cream, blend well. Boil noodles until tender. Place alternate layers of veal, mushroom soup mixture, shredded sharp cheese, green pepper and noodles. Cover mixture with buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 350ºF. for 45 minutes. 6 - 8 servings |
