Applesauce Buttermilk Cake

2 cups of flour
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
2 teaspoons of baking soda
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 cup of applesauce
1 cup of chopped nuts
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of butter
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1 cup of buttermilk



Stir dry ingredients together. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs. Stir in applesauce and buttermilk. Gradually add dry ingredients and nuts until well blended. Pour into greased 9" pan. Bake in 350ºF. oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until done. Cool in pan on rack. Serve from pan. Makes 8 servings.
