Sift together dry ingredients, beat eggs and add oil, buttermilk, sugar and vanilla, mix thoroughly, add to dry ingredients, mix well, add pineapple, nuts, carrots and coconut, stir well and pour into well greased pan. Bake at 350ºF. about 1 hour.
Glaze:
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of soda
1 cup of butter (or margarine)
2 tablespoons of white syrup
Place all ingredients in large saucepan. Bring to boil, 5 minutes and pour over hot cake.
