Fruit Cocktail Quickie Cake

1 large can of fruit cocktail
1 cup of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon of salt
3/4 cup of sugar
1 egg

Drain fruit cocktail well. Sift and add flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar. Add egg. Mix well and put into 8 inch square pan. Top with 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup nuts. Bake at 300-325ºF. for 1 hour.
