| Apple Peanut Crumble
5 cooking apples, peeled, cored & diced 2/3 cup of packed brown sugar 1/2 cup of all purpose flour 1/2 cup of quick cooking rolled oats 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon of freshly grated nutmeg 1/2 cup of margarine or butter, at room temperature 2 tablespoons of peanut butter
Place apple slices in a slow cooker. In medium bowl, combine sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix in margarine or butter and peanut butter with a pastry blender or fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Cover and cook on LOW 5 to 6 hours. Serve warm, plain or with ice cream or whipped cream. Makes 5 or 6 servings |
