4 bacon slices, diced 1/4 cup of packed brown sugar 2 tablespoons of all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1/8 teaspoon of pepper 1/4 cup of water 1/4 cup of vinegar 1 medium head red cabbage, shredded, about 8 cups 1 small onion, finely chopped
In a skillet, cook bacon until crisp, reserve drippings. Combine 1 tablespoon drippings in a slow cooker with remaining ingredients, except cooked bacon. Cover and cook on LOW 6 1/2 to 7 hours or until cabbage is tender. Spoon into a serving bowl, sprinkle with reserved bacon. Makes 5 or 6 servings
