Low Calorie Six Layer Dish

Categories: potatoes, casseroles, ground beef, kidney beans

2 medium potatoes, sliced
2 medium carrots, sliced
1/3 cup of  uncooked rice
2 small onions, sliced
1 pound of ground beef, raw
1 quart of  canned tomatoes

Layer in order all ingredients above in 2 quart greased casserole. Sprinkle over all 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Bake at 300ºF. for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Serves 4. (Options: just before ground beef, add 1 cup cooked kidney beans, drained; or substitute browned pork sausage for ground beef.)
