Banana Cookies

3/4 cup of shortening
1 cup of sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 1/2 cup of flour
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 cup of mashed banana
1 cup of rolled oats
1/2 cup of chopped nuts




Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Sift flour, soda, salt and spices. Stir into sugar mixture. Add banana, oats and nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 400º F. oven for 12 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies
