Peppermint Thumbprints

Peppermint Thumbprints
 
 FILLING
 1/2 cup of peppermint candy, crushed
 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
 2 tablespoons of cream cheese, softened
 2 teaspoons of milk
 COOKIE DOUGH
 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
 1 cup of margarine or butter, softened
 1 teaspoon of vanilla
 2 1/2 cups of flour 
Instructions:



Heat oven to 350ºF. In small bowl, mix all filling ingredients until well blended; set aside. In large bowl, cream powdered sugar, margarine and vanilla. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Add flour and mix well. If dough is too crumbly, add 1-4 tsp milk. Shape into 1" balls; place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets. With thumb, make indentation in center of each cookie; fill with 1/4 teaspoon of filling. Bake 10-15 minutes or until light golden brown. Immediately remove cookies from cookie sheets; cool.
