Chicken >

Chinese Chicken #2

one 3 pound broiler fryer
3/4 cup of soy sauce
1/4 cup of sherry
1/4 cup of water
1/4 cup of chopped green onions
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 teaspoon of grated fresh gingerroot
Chinese noodles, cooked



Place chicken, breast side down, in a large Dutch oven.
Combine the remaining ingredients except noodles; pour mixture over chicken.
Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Turn chicken, and simmer 30 minutes. Turn chicken, and simmer an additional 30 minutes or until chicken is tender. Remove chicken from pot, discarding liquid.
Serve chicken on a serving platter with Chinese noodles. Yield: 4 servings

Hot cooked rice may be substituted for Chinese noodles.
