Broiled  Ham with Pineapple Sauce

1 1/2 pound ham slice cut 3/4 inch thick
one 1 pound 4 ounce can of pineapple chunks
1 tablespoon of cornstarch or potato flour
2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon of powdered allspice
1/4 teaspoon of powdered ginger
1 tablespoon of vinegar
11/4 cup of finely diced green pepper

Place ham slice in cold skillet. Let heat and cook until browned on one side. Turn ham to brown other side. Prepare sauce: Drain syrup from pineapple. Combine with cornstarch or flour in small enamel or glass saucepan over moderate heat. Stir until smooth. Add butter or margarine, sugar, spice, vinegar, and green pepper. Stir and heat 1 or 2 minutes. Add 1 cup of pineapple chunks. Stir and cook until sauce thickens and is clear. Serve hot over hot ham slice. Makes 4 servings

This same sauce is delicious over hot sliced baked ham.
