Meat Cakes Grain
1 pound of ground beef 2 tablespoons of margarine or butter 1/2 teaspoon of salt A dash of ground white pepper 4 large hamburger buns, toasted 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise 4 tablespoons of catsup 16 slices of dill pickle 16 very thin slices of tomato 4 slices of sweet Bermuda onion 4 leaves lettuce radish roses or parsley sprigs, if desired |

Shape beef into four large round patties. In a large skillet, melt margarine and cook patties over moderate heat until browned on both sides and center is cooked to desired degree of doneness. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Spread each bun with 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise, place pattie on bun; spread 1 tablespoon of catsup on each pattie. Top each pattie with 4 slices dill pickle, 4 slices tomato, 1 slice Bermuda onion and 1 lettuce leaf. Serve garnished with radish roses and parsley sprigs, if desired. 4 servings
