Mexican Beef Kabobs

 

Mexican Beef Kabobs

1/2 cup of chopped onion
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 cup of wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of crushed oregano
1/2 teaspoon of cumin
1/2 teaspoon of cloves
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1 clove garlic, minced

instant meat tenderizer
1 1/2 pounds of round steak, cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes

For the sauce: Cook the onion in hot oil until tender, but not brown. Add vinegar, seasonings and garlic, cover and simmer for 20 minutes, cool. Meanwhile use tenderizer on meat according to label directions. Skewer meat, brush with sauce. Broil over hot coals, about 12 - 15 minutes for medium rare, turning frequently and basting often with sauce. Makes 4 or 5 servings.
