Lasagna >


 

Blue Ribbon Lasagna

1 pound of ground beef
1/4 teaspoon of granulated garlic
one 8 ounce can of tomato sauce
one 28 ounce can of chopped tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon of oregano
1/2 teaspoon of basil
1 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
1 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoon of oil
one 8 ounce package of uncooked Lasagna noodles
1/2 pound of Muenster cheese, sliced
1/3 cup of grated Parmesan cheese



Preheat oven to 375ºF. In a large skillet, brown beef and then drain off fat. Add garlic, tomato sauce, tomatoes, herbs, seasonings and onion to skillet and simmer for 20 minutes. Fill a large pot with water, stir 1 tablespoon each of salt and oil and bring to a boil. Add noodles to pot and cook, uncovered , for 12 minutes. Drain. Arrange a layer of noodles in the bottom of a 2 quart casserole dish and layer 1/2 of the muenster cheese on top. Spread 1/2 of the cottage cheese on top of the muenster and 1/2 of the meat sauce on top of the cottage cheese. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients. Sprinkle top with Parmesan cheese and bake at 375ºF.  for 25 - 30 minutes. Serves 4 -6
