Barbecued Meat Balls
3 pounds of ground beef
one 12 ounce can of evaporated milk
1 cup of oatmeal
1 cup of cracker crumbs
2 eggs
1/2 cup of chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
2 teaspoons of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
2 teaspoon of chili powder
2 cups of ketchup
1 cup of brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of liquid smoke
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/2 cup of chopped onion |

Combine beef, milk, oatmeal, crumbs, eggs, 1/2 cup onion, 1/2 teaspoon of
garlic powder, salt, pepper and chili powder, mixture will be soft. Shape
into walnut size balls. Place meatballs in a 13x9x2 inch baking pan. To make
sauce, combine ketchup, brown sugar, liquid smoke, garlic powder and 1/4 cup
of onion. Pour this over the pan of meatballs. Bake in a 350ºF. oven for 40-
45 minutes. To freeze for later use: Line cookie sheets with waxed paper,
place meatballs in single layer, freeze until solid. Store frozen meatballs
in freezer bags until ready to cook. Place frozen meatballs in baking pan,
pour on sauce. Bake at 350ºF. for 1 hour. Makes 80 |
