1/2 pound of ground beef 3 slices of very golden brown toast or less 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley 1 clove garlic, chopped fine 1 egg 2 tablespoons of grated Italian cheese 1 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
Soak the toast in cold water about 10 minutes and then press dry. Combine with other ingredients and work together until thoroughly blended. It does best to use your hands. Form into 12 medium size smooth balls and fry slowly in 2 tablespoons of hot shortening until golden brown. Do not turn meat balls until absolutely brown. Add to sauce after sauce has been cooked. Simmer slowly in sauce for 30 minutes, but watch carefully that they do not fall apart.
