| Sweet & Sour Meatballs
1 1/2 pound of hamburger 1/2 pound of hot sausage 15 gingersnaps, finely crushed 1 egg 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon of concentrated garlic 1/4 teaspoon of salt |

Combine all ingredients, chill overnight. Shape into small balls about the size of a hazel nut, sauté in bacon fat until brown. Remove from heat and drain, reserving 3 tablespoons of fat. Sweet & Sour Sauce: 1 tablespoon of brown sugar 2 tablespoons of soya sauce 2 tablespoons of wine vinegar juice drained from pineapple 1 tablespoon of cornstarch 1 green pepper, curt into 1 1/2 cubes one 18 1/2 ounce can of pineapple chunks, drained 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
Add brown sugar, soya sauce and vinegar to reserved fat. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Add cornstarch, simmer until thickened. Add the reminding ingredients. Cook for 3 minutes. Pour over meat balls. Yield 8 servings |
