Barbecued Pot Roast

2 pounds of beef pot roast
salt and pepper
fat
1/2 cup of water
one 8 ounce can of tomato sauce
3 medium onions, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard
1/4 cup of lemon juice
1/4 cup of vinegar
1/4 cup of catsup
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce




Rub meat with salt and pepper; brown in hot fat. Add water, tomato sauce, onions and garlic. Cover and simmer for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Combine the remaining ingredients; pour over meat. Continue to simmer until the meat is tender. Thicken sauce with flour. Makes 6 servings
