All Girl BBQ Sauce

1 cup of  minced onion
1 stick butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup of white vinegar
2 teaspoons of dry mustard
1 tablespoon of Chinese chili paste
5 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
Juice of 2 limes
1 tablespoon of Tabasco sauce
2 bay leaves
1/4 cup of  brown sugar, firmly packed
2 cups of  dark beer (or use chicken stock)

In a heavy pot, sauté the onion in butter until soft and almost golden. Add garlic and sauté a couple of minutes more. Add everything else and simmer on low for 45 minutes to an hour, stirring often.
