Teriyaki Marinade

1/4 cup of soy sauce or tamari
1/4 cup of sake or white wine
2 tablespoons of  canola oil
2 teaspoons of  dark sesame oil
3 tablespoons of  light brown sugar
2 tablespoons of rice vinegar or white wine vinegar
1 to 2 cloves garlic, crushed or minced
1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger

Combine all the ingredients in a small container. Let stand until the sugar is dissolved. When brushing on foods, swirl the mixture often with the brush to keep combined. Makes 1 cup.

Teriyaki Marinade

1/2 cup of  vegetable oil
1/2 cup of lite soy sauce
1/4 cup of Chardonnay wine
2 tablespoons of  honey
1 tablespoon of sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
1 tablespoon of fresh ginger, finely chopped
1 tablespoon of white distilled vinegar
1 tablespoon of  sesame seeds


Combine all of the ingredients in a medium size non-reactive bowl and blend well. Select and prep the beef, pork or poultry you wish to marinate. Place the item in a non-reactive container just large enough to hold it. Add the marinade and coat well.
