1/3 cup of yellow cornmeal
1 tablespoon of dill, finely chopped
2 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2teaspoon of salt
3 tablespoons of vegetable shortening, chilled
1 cup of milk

In a medium bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients. With 2 knives or your fingers, cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Simmer over medium-low heat, covered, about 16 minutes, or until the dumplings are done.
