Baked Winter Pears
1/4 cup of raisins or chopped dates 1/4 cup of chopped pecans 3 pears, peeled, cored and halved 1/2 cup of water 1/2 cup of firmly packed brown sugar 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon |

Combine raisins or dates and pecans in a small mixing bowl; set aside. Place pear halves, cut side up, in a 10x6x2 inch baking dish. Spoon reserved filling into center of each pear. Combine remaining ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Pour over filled pears. Bake at 350ºF. for 45 minutes or until pears are tender, basting frequently. Serve warm. Yield 6 servings
