| | Baked Apples w/Pecan Sauce
6 medium size baking apples 1 cup of hot water 2 tablespoons of sugar 1/4 cup of butter or margarine one 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk 1 cup of chopped pecans 1 tablespoon of dark rum a dash of salt
Core apples; peel top third of each. Place in a shallow baking dish. Combine water and sugar; pour over apples. Bake at 350ºF. for 45 minutes or until tender. Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat 10 to 12 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool. Spoon sauce over baked apples. Yield: 6 servings |
