Holiday Almond Tea Bread

3/4 cup of dried apricots, chopped
1/4 cup of butter or margarine
3/4 cup of sugar
1 cup of boiling water
1 Egg, beaten
1 cup of flour
1 cup of whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 cup of almonds, chopped


Preheat oven to 350ºF. Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and line it with nonstick or wax paper. Combine the apricots, butter or margarine, sugar and boiling water. Stir until melted. Allow to cool. Mix in t he egg, flours and baking soda. Add the almonds and spoon the mixture into the prepared pan. Level the top and bake for about 1 hour, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack before slicing. Makes 1 loaf. Typed in MM Format by cjhartlin@email.msn.com
