Linguine w/Herbed Meat Sauce

1/2 pound of ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, peeled and finely chopped
1/2 green pepper, seeded and finely chopped
1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms
one 10 ounce can of condensed tomato soup
one 8 ounce can of tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon of oregano
1/2 teaspoon of basil
1/8 teaspoon of marjoram
1/8 teaspoon of thyme
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper to taste
8 ounces of linguine
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Brown meat in large frying pan. Add onion, garlic, green pepper and mushrooms, sauté for 3 minutes. Pour off excess fat. Add soup and tomato sauce tomato, mixing well. Add herbs., salt, and pepper. Cook over medium high heat until sauce boils. Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile cook linguine in boiling, salted water following package directions, drain. Place linguine in heated serving bowl. Discard the bay leaf, then spoon meat sauce over linguine. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and serve. Serves 4
