Layered Ham and Macaroni Salad

1 teaspoon of lemon peel, grated
1 teaspoon of dried rosemary leaves
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of thyme leaves
1/4 teaspoon of pepper, coarse ground
2 Cloves garlic, minced
1 cup of elbow Macaroni
4 cups of lettuce; shredded
1 Cucumber; diced
2 cups of ham; julienned
1 Red onion; thinly sliced
10 ounces of frozen peas; partially
1 cup of mayonnaise; (up to 1 1/2 c)
1 1/2 teaspoon of Dill weed
1/2 cups of Cheddar cheese; shredded 


Cook macaroni as directed on package - drain and chill well. In large salad bowl (about 3 quart size) - layer lettuce, cucumber, macaroni, ham, onion and peas. Carefully spread mayonnaise over peas. Sprinkle dill weed over mayonnaise and carefully blend in. Top with shredded cheese. Cover well and chill several hours or overnight. Toss just before serving.
