Chicken Liver Spread

1/2 pound of chicken livers
1 cup of milk
1/4 cup of chicken fat or margarine
1 medium onion, cut into quarters
3 hard cooked eggs, peeled and cut in half
1/2 pound of cooked ham or fresh pork (cooked), and cut up
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
1/8 teaspoon of garlic powder



Soak the livers in milk for about 2 hours. Drain the livers and discard the milk. Melt fat in skillet. Add the livers and onion and cook over medium heat until tender. Combine the livers, pan drippings and all of the remaining ingredients. Grind or mince. Add the extra melted chicken fat or margarine, if desired, to make spread of your desired spreading consistency. Makes 4 cups
