Old-Fashioned Lemonade #1
6 lemons
1 cup white sugar
6 cups cold water 

Directions
Juice the lemons to make 1 cup of juice. To make your labor easier, firmly roll the lemons between your hand and counter top before cutting in half and juicing. In a gallon pitcher combine 1 cup lemon juice, 1 cup sugar, and 6 cups cold water. Stir. Adjust water to taste. Chill and serve over ice. Makes 6 servings

Old Fashioned Lemonade #2  

Yield: 6 servings

 1 cup granulated sugar
5-1/2 cups water, divided
1-1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 10 lemons)
Lemon slices, for garnish Directions
In a saucepan, mix together sugar and 1/2 cup water; bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring with a wooden spoon, 5 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Strain syrup into a lidded glass jar. Let cool, then refrigerate. Pour the remaining 5 cups water and lemon juice into a large pitcher. Add about 3/4 cup of the syrup or more to taste. Reserve any remaining syrup for another batch. Stir well; pour over ice in tall glasses.
Garnish with lemon slices. Per serving: 144 cals, no fat or cholesterol or protein
