| | Old Fashioned Crispy Fried Onion Rings
2 sweet Spanish onions 1 cup of pancake mix 3/4 cup of beer Oil for deep frying heated to 375ºF. Salt
Peel onions and cut into 1/2 inch thick slices; separate into rings. Combine pancake mix and beer to make a smooth, thick batter. Dip onion rings in batter and fry, a few at a time, in hot fat until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper lines baking sheets. Keep fried onion rings hot in oven until all rings are fried. |
