Old Fashioned Crumb Cake
4 cups of flour
1 cup of sour milk
3/4 cup of shortening
1/8 teaspoon of salt
3 cups of brown sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon of baking soda, dissolved in water
Rub sugar shortening, and flour together into crumbs. Remove 1 cup crumbs. Mix all ingredients until well blended. Pour into greased pan. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs and bake at 375ºF. for 45 minutes. This can be made as 2 cakes or 1 very large one. Recipe provided by Terry's Recipes Back to Old Fashioned Recipes |
