Chick Pea Pate

One 12 ounce can of chick peas (garbanzo)
1 pound of ground meat
2 tablespoons of sesame paste (tahini)
3 tablespoons of lemon juice
3 buds garlic, chopped
Salt & pepper to taste
1 medium onion, chopped
1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
Pine nuts or almond slivers
2 tablespoons of oil
Parsley for garnish




Drain and mash or puree chick peas. Salt and pepper to taste; set aside. In separate bowl, mix sesame paste, lemon juice, and garlic. Then slowly add 2 tablespoons water until mixture becomes like a sauce. Blend well. Pour pea puree with sesame sauce, blend well. Pour onto a serving platter and smooth out until approximately one inch thick around platter. Brown ground meat, chopped onion, red pepper, salt and black pepper; drain slightly of oil. Spoon meat mixture onto platter of chick pea pate'. Brown pine nuts or almond slivers in oil. Garnish meat and pate' with nuts in oil. Add a few sprigs of parsley if desired. Use pita bread to dip pat'.
