 Apple Strudel Pastry

2 1/2 cups of sifted flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of shortening
1 egg yolk
1 cup of corn flakes
One 3 pound bag of apples, peeled and sliced
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1 egg white
Milk




Combine flour and salt, cut in shortening. Beat egg yolk in measuring cup and add enough milk to make 2/3 cup liquid. Mix well and stir into flour mixture. Roll half of mixture and lay on cookie sheet. Sprinkle with corn flakes. Top with sliced apples. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples. Roll second half of dough and put on top of apple mixture. Seal edges. Cut slits in top. Beat egg white until frothy. Brush on top. Bake at 375ºF. for 50-60 minutes.
