 Fruit Slice Pastry

4 cups of all purpose flour
1 1/2 cup of shortening or 1 stick margarine
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of baking powder
3 tablespoons of sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup of water
2 tablespoons of vinegar
2 cans of fruit
White frosting



Blend flour, shortening, salt, baking powder and salt. Beat eggs, water and vinegar. Stir into flour mixture to make a soft dough. Knead lightly to form a ball; chill before using; after chilling, divide dough in half, roll to fit a cookie sheet. Pour the two cans of fruit over dough. Roll out remaining dough and cut into strips to form lattice work. Bake at 425ºF. for 30 minutes. Cool and frost with glaze made from white frosting.
