Pizza Roll

1/2 pound of ground lean beef
2 tablespoons of finely chopped onion
1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/4 cup of tomato or pizza sauce
1/4 teaspoon of dried basil or oregano leaves
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/8 teaspoon of  ground black pepper
1 Italian roll (about 6 inches long)
1/3 cup of shredded Mozzarella cheese

Crumble beef and place in a microwaveable sieve; add onion and garlic powder. Place sieve in 1 1/2 quart microwaveable casserole to collect drippings. Cook, covered, with waxed paper 1 1/2 to 2 minutes at power control 10 or until no longer pink; drain fat. Place meat in casserole. Stir in tomato sauce, basil, salt, and pepper. Split roll in half lengthwise and place on microwaveable roast rack. Spoon beef mixture evenly over each roll half and sprinkle with cheese. Cook, uncovered, 3 to 4 minutes at powder control 5 or until cheese is melted and rolls are hot.

Pizza Roll

1 loaf frozen bread dough
1/4 cup of tomato paste
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
4 ounces of chopped Pepperoni (1 c.)
4 ounces of shredded Mozzarella cheese (1 c.)

Thaw bread dough. Roll dough out to a 12 x 9 inch rectangle. Spread with tomato paste. Sprinkle with remaining ingredients. Roll up jelly-roll fashion from long side; seal. Place on greased baking sheet, seam side down. Brush with water and sprinkle with a little salt. Let rise until almost double (about 1 hour). Make shallow slashes across top. Bake in 375ºF.  oven for 30 minutes or until done. Serve warm.

Pizza Roll Ups

1 pound loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
1 1/2-2 hours, rolled into 12 x 9 inch rectangle
1/4 cup of tomato paste
1 teaspoon of oregano
1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
4 ounces of pepperoni
4 ounces of shredded Mozzarella cheese

Spread tomato paste on dough then add remaining ingredients. Roll up jelly roll fashion, seal ends. Place on a greased sheet. Brush with water; sprinkle with a little salt. Let rise until almost double. Make shallow slashes across top at 2 inch intervals. Bake at 375ºF. for 30 minutes.
