1 baked (9inch) pastry shell 10 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled 1 cup (4 ounces) of shredded Swiss cheese 1/3cup of sliced green onions 5 eggs, beaten 1 cup of half and half a dash of pepper a dash of nutmeg
Bake pastry shell at 450ºF. for 5 minutes. Remove from oven, and let cool. Sprinkle bacon, cheese, and green onions in pastry shell. Combine eggs, half and half, pepper, and nutmeg in a large bowl; beat well. Pour into shell. Bake at 350ºF. for 35 minutes or until set. Remove from oven; let stand 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm. Yield: 6 servings
Microwave: Microwave pastry at HIGH for 3 1/2 to 4 minutes, turning once. Sprinkle bacon, cheese and green onions in pastry shell. reduce number of eggs to 4, and combine with half and half, pepper and nutmeg in a large mixing bowl; beat well. Pour into pasty shell. Microwave at MEDIUM (50% power) for 20 minutes or until set, turning every 5 minutes. Let stand on flat surface 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm |
